I’ve Got All This Distance Learning Equipment – Now What?

Participants will work on distance learning initiatives and learn to plan around curriculum goals, find a videoconference to meet those goals, correspond with the provider, and prepare students for the connection as well as evaluate the connection. There will be opportunities for hands on practice to connect the equipment and use the remote control. Attendees will leave with a wealth of information that can be implemented immediately, as well as contacts for connections and assistance.

This research project, developed by a media specialist and a classroom teacher, uses distance learning to unite two diverse classrooms. Using the Big research model to learn about the history of both communities, the project focuses on important individuals who have made a difference in the communities’ past. Attendees can easily replicate this project in their own community.
